Is your bike gathering dust in the shed? Do you want to avoid expensive service charges for simple maintenance tasks? Join our Introduction to Bicycle Maintenance Workshop and gain the confidence and skills to keep your bike in top shape!
In this 2-hour beginner-friendly session, you’ll learn how to carry out essential bike maintenance that saves you money, extends the life of your bike, and keeps you riding smoothly. From fixing a puncture to adjusting brakes and gears, our expert instructor, Tom Watson, will guide you step-by-step.
During the workshop, you’ll cover topics including:
- Workshop safety and the basics of a cycle repair kit.
- Safety check - The ‘M’ check—a quick and easy way to ensure your bike is safe to ride.
- Puncture repair, tyre pressure, brake adjustments, chain lubrication and gear tuning.
- How to spot wear and tear on tyres, chains, and ball bearing assemblies.
- An introduction to wheel truing and other handy skills relevant to the group.
Whether you're a casual cyclist or commuting daily, you’ll leave the workshop with the basic tools and knowledge to keep your bike in good shape. You’ll also get to take home a puncture repair kit to get you started on your bike maintenance journey.
Bring your bike and wear warm clothes – the workshop will take place outside, with gazebo cover if it’s raining.
No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm to learn!
