Contemporary Watercolour Workshop with Paintbox
This two day course in collaboration with Paintbox School of Art, will explore the possibilities of watercolour as a medium in a contemporary context.
About Contemporary Watercolour Workshop with Paintbox
Turning our backs to 'the rules' of watercolour, we will explore its diversity as a medium and look at how it can be used to make bold pieces of work.
We will begin the course exploring the Caged Bird's Song exhibition and consider the use of watercolour in Ofili's work. Back in the studio we will look at the concept of using pattern, colour and narrative as a driving force for making a painting. Working from a studio set up, you will make a series of exploratory pieces before developing a sustained finished painting put in to action all the processes you have learned.
