2 dates available - 2nd & 3rd December
During this workshop, you will discover various bookbinding techniques, including sewing and folding, that will enable you to create beautiful and personalised books. Whether you are a beginner or have experience, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels.
This workshop will give you the opportunity to make a range of simple sewn and folded books that are perfect for gifts, stocking fillers or ‘just because’. This will include pamphlet (three-hole and five-hole stitch, single section) books, a dos-à-dos binding and a pocket accordion. I have patterned papers/card you can use for covers but there will also be an opportunity to make rubber stamps and print your own. You can also personalise your books by printing a letterpress name or title on my 8 x 5 Adana Press. If you have any paper, you would particularly like to use, please bring it along but all tools, equipment and materials will be supplied. Tea, coffee, and snacks will be provided but do bring a light lunch along with you. Wear warmer old clothes and something to tie back long hair (if applicable).
The workshop will be held in my studio which is part of the Outer Spaces network at 3 Redheughs Avenue, Edinburgh, EH12 9RH. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow book enthusiasts and share ideas while enjoying a creative and relaxed atmosphere.
This workshop is bookable via Eventbrite: HERE
