What you will acheive:
how to make a punch needle coaster/small rug from start to finish.
how to set up your punch needle piece and how to do this on various frames in the future
how to use and adjust a punch needle and how to finish your piece off with fabric backing.

Suitability: All levels, 16+.
Punch Needle is for suitable for of all ages and is a stress free creative process. No previous experience or skill is required - anyone can make a punch needle artwork! Whether you need a therapeutic new hobby, you would like to learn a new skill or just have fun creating a piece of artwork - this class is for you!
About your instructor: Rachael Bell is a BA Sculpture Graduate of Edinburgh College of Art Class of 2021. Bell works with Sculpture, Ceramics, Painting, Textiles and Photography. Bell’s practice is not restricted in materials, shifting from sculpture to punch needle art, painting and ceramics etc. Rachel loves teaching the art of punch needle, believing it is a valued craft that should be shared especially in younger generations.
Required: yourself - and your enthusiasm. Rachael suggests that you might want to think about what sort of designs you fancy creating- if you struggle to make that sort of decision under pressure! Otherwise, she will definitely give you some ideas!
What we provide: all materials, including needle set to take away, refreshments (soft drinks, tea, coffee), a fun and supportive environment for learning!
