Ever heard of this small off-Broadway show called Hamilton? It wasn’t very big, so we’re not surprised. Anyway, Shamilton! is just like that, but (ahem) better! Expect the same level of hip hop, incredible songs, stunning choreography and powerhouse singing... except made up on the spot! This will undoubtedly be the show of 2022 that’s going to make you “talk less. Smile more”.
Created in LA in 2016 by Fringe sell-out hit sensation Baby Wants Candy, this Hamilton inspired hip-hop musical went on to sell-out runs in Chicago, New York and the Kennedy Center in Washington DC… and now it intends to rip the roof off Assembly this summer. Join the Shamilton! cast as they improvise an epic musical based on a historical figure/celebrity of your choosing - from Genghis Khan to Paul Hollywood to Kim Kardashian to... anyone!
Just as Hamilton said, "I probably shouldn't brag, but dag, I amaze and astonish”… as the cast will do every evening this Fringe!
A now Fringe institution and one of the most popular and critically acclaimed international comedy ensembles, Baby Wants Candy has launched the careers of various top comedic actors and writers in the US, from Craig Cackowski (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development) to Jack McBrayer (Kenneth in 30 Rock), Vanessa Bayer and Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s Silicon Valley) and Peter Gwinn (Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report) and have sold out every single Fringe run since they started in 2010. So yes, they probably should brag.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
