This is your chance to sign up for the last MoonWalk Scotland in the capital, before the event goes on tour to a new city!
The MoonWalk Scotland is the original night-time fund-raising event in Edinburgh, organised by breast cancer charity Walk the Walk.
On Saturday 6th September, hundreds of women, men and young people wearing decorated bras or brightly coloured bra t-shirts will take on a Half Moon (13.1 miles) or Full Moon (26.2 miles) walking challenge, starting and finishing at the MoonWalk Arena in Holyrood Park.
Many of Edinburgh’s most iconic landmarks – including Camera Obscura, the Balmoral Hotel and the Royal Society of Edinburgh, will light up pink on the night of The MoonWalk in support of the event.
There is a family friend 5K ZOOM Walk at Holyrood Park on the morning of The MoonWalk, for all ages and abilities too. And Walk the Walk also needs Volunteers to help make both the 5K ZOOM and The MoonWalk Scotland run smoothly.
Walkers taking part in The MoonWalk Scotland have raised more than £22 million since 2006, enabling Walk the Walk to give grants which provide vital support to people across Scotland living with cancer. Funds have recently been awarded to:-
• Ayrshire Cancer Support, which provides psychological and therapeutic services for people living with cancer.
• The Beatson Cancer Charity to help people with cancer to overcome issues returning or remaining at work.
• Scottish-based charity Make Seconds Count, to support those living with secondary cancer feel more confident and empowered to discuss clinical trials with their clinician as part of their treatment pathway.
This is going to be a super special year!
