Dragons and Fashion Editors love sustainable fashion brand Unfolded but will you? For one weekend only Unfolded host pop up at Dalkeith Country Park
Scotland’s own sustainable fashion pioneer Unfolded, can normally only be seen online, unless you count Dragons’ Den, Lorraine, This Morning and numerous recommendations in magazines and newspapers. But next weekend - Saturday 14th to Sunday 15th June - the impact driven clothing brand are hosting a pop up store just outside Edinburgh at Restoration Yard, Dalkeith Country Park.
Shoppers are invited to pop along to view (and try on) the latest collection and shop the exclusive sample sale at up to 50% off, including one-of-a-kind pieces that were never released. The pop up runs for one weekend only and will be open from 10-5pm on both days, upstairs at Restoration Yard, Dalkeith Country Park.
The sustainable ladies clothing brand will be familiar to many as one of the only businesses to have appeared on Dragons’ Den twice (and on many repeats and highlights) receiving praise (and multiple offers both times) for their innovative waste free shopping model. Over the weekend of the 14th and 15th of June there is an open invitation for people to visit the pop up and learn more about how these beautiful clothes are not only changing the wasteful fashion industry but are also changing lives.
Did you know that 30% of new clothes made this year will never be sold - that’s estimated to be a staggering 26 billion items of new clothing destined to go straight to landfill? Unfolded have developed a new process that avoids waste.
The sustainable clothing brand creates limited edition, waste-free ladies clothing in sizes 6-24 and uses the savings that avoiding waste creates to: offer sustainable quality clothing at an affordable price, pay garment workers better wages, and create long term change by funding children in India in education.
Cally Russell, co-founder and CEO at This Is Unfolded and the man with the unrivalled title of being the only person to twice appear on Dragons’ Den, turning down numerous investment offers each time. There was even a question relating to his appearances on Dragons’ Den posed on another show - The Chase. Cally says; “Unfolded is a completely different way to shop - we design our clothes in collaboration with our customers and we only start production once orders are placed, creating no waste and ensuring a better deal for the planet, our customers, the garment workers who make our clothes and local children in India.
“We have over 80,000 ladies who regularly shop and help design our collections but we really love being able to host these pop ups and meet both new and existing customers as Unfolded is really a community of like minded people who think clothes needn’t only look good but can do good too.”
The Edinburgh based business is well on its way to achieving its global mission - to change the way people shop and make the fashion industry more sustainable.
The latest Unfolded collection was co-created by over 8000 members of the Unfolded community, who helped with every design element of the collection - from prints, to styles to fit.
Since launch, Unfolded has already supported over 13,000 children in India to learn to read and write through our partner NGO Pratham.
