Shape and 3D Tapestry Weaving Experience
This 2 day tapestry weaving experience is a rare chance to develop a range of tapestry weaving skills at Dovecot Studios, the UK’s longest running tapestry studio, on 6th & 7th February.
About Shape and 3D Tapestry Weaving Experience
Aimed at weavers with a little weaving experience, the workshop will introduce you to a range of techniques to create shaped and 3 dimensional weaving.
Taking inspiration from tapestries woven at the dovecot we will explore how manipulate the warp and weft, moving from traditional flat woven tapestry to a more sculptural approach. Experimenting with a range of techniques, you will receive expert tuition from professional weaver Fiona Hutchison, and at the end of the day you are invited to sit back and admire your tapestry with a glass of fizz!
The price includes equipment and a complimentary glass of fizz to end the class. If participants would like to practice and develop their new weaving skills at home, tapestry frames, yarns, and bobbins are available at Dovecot Shop where attendees will receive a 10% discount on the day of their workshop.
