Learn to use creative skills to re-use, recycle and re-love our old clothes and materials.
Join designer and embroidery specialist, Chloe Patience, for a hand embroidery workshop where you will get to grips with contemporary hand embroidery techniques using threads, beads, and sequins. You will then create your own embroidered motif which can be applied to an item of your choice. (Suggestions could be a jumper, denim jacket, cushion cover or even a festive Christmas stocking.) Your tutor will demonstrate some sustainable approaches to consider in your embroidery work and explain how the motif itself, is a eco-friendly approach to fashion and design.
The lesson will cover:
- Planning and making a motif
- Sewing with sequins and beads
- Basic stitch techniques (couching and satin stitch)
All beads and materials will be provided but please feel free to bring along any special threads or beads to use on the day.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
