Theiya Arts is starting a block of 5 classes in Carnatic Vocal for children and teens, taught by Carnatic Vocal Teacher Tanvi Kamat. Carnatic Music is a form of Indian classical music with origins in Southern India. The class is suitable for children aged 8 years and above.
DATES: Thursdays 27th October to 24th November 2022
This is a foundation course introducing students to Carnatic music through progressive lessons in practice and theory. The class group is small, ensuring each student gets dedicated attention and instruction from the teacher.
Teacher Tanvi Kamat is a senior disciple of her Guru Dr Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, Indian Carnatic vocalist, singer, and musician. Born into a family of musicians, Jayashri represents the fourth generation of music practitioners in her family. Trained by Lalgudi Jayaraman and T R Balamani, she was awarded India's fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2021. She has become one of the most sought after Carnatic musicians today.
