Light plays the key element in the work of both artists.
Susan Macintosh celebrates the quality of light on land and sea in Scotland’s northern latitudes. She is captivated by the phenomenon of waterborne media and the mesmerising luminosity of the northern sun that is represented by the white of the paper.
Leonie Rutter's white porcelain vessels with inlaid black lines focus on form and texture. But her sculptural stoneware free-standing and wall pieces are designed to cast beautiful shadow.
