Join us at No.7 Charlotte Square to enjoy a Georgian age of grand portraits and silhouette shadows. Inspired by the specially commissioned silhouette artwork Walking in Raeburn’s Shadow, this workshop will teach you the popular art of papercutting so you can create something to take home for your own wall.
Leading paper-cut artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb will guide you through the process so you can make your own silhouettes, demonstrating how to capture the essence of a New Town lady or a gentleman of Raeburn’s day.
Suitable for ages 6 years and up and accompanied by an adult/carer. Ticket admission provides access to the Raeburn's Edinburgh Exhibition and the Georgian House.
Workshop limited to 15 people.
Tessa Asquith-Lamb, FSAScot, graduated from Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh University after completing her MA (Hons) in Fine Art in 1998, specialising in etching and painting. Since then, she has continued to work on her art especially her printmaking with many exhibitions in public and private galleries. Her work is influenced by stories, animals and folk art; she has run workshops for exhibitions throughout Edinburgh.
