Join us at The Georgian House this Pride Month as we celebrate the opening of Below Stairs Books, our new secondhand bookshop, with a special Queer Book Fair on Friday 6th June!
About Pride & Prejudice - Queer Book Fair at The Georgian House
Dotted around our historic 1790’s townhouse will be local booksellers to browse and buy a curated selection of LGBTQ+ literature, rare books, and second-hand treasures, all available for purchase.

Along with our own museums very own second-hand bookshop!
Special Talk: The team from Lavender Menace will also present a short talk, sharing insights into the history of their iconic bookshop and archive, a cornerstone of queer literary history in Scotland.
Spend an evening immersing yourself in literary heritage, rare books, and queer storytelling in the atmospheric setting of our 18th-century Drawing Room.
Discover the LGBTQ+ connections in our historic house collection, from Catherine Talbot’s letters to Elizabeth Carter to historic entries in the Encyclopedia Britannica, and explore the house through an LGBTQ+ lens.
Be sure to pre-book your free ticket and celebrate Pride with us!
