The exhibition is the culmination of a project which pairs ECA students and mature students from across the University. The works were created through and in response to a series of intergenerational conversations between each pair of students. During the conversations, students reflected upon their experiences of isolation, grief and sacrifice; and recognised their resilience, experience and growth in facing adversity. The exhibition showcases ECA students’ creative and imaginative responses to these complex personal themes. The project hopes to foster dialogues between different student populations and raise awareness of the unique challenges faced by older students. Taking place at Whitespace Gallery from 9th - 15th May, Works In Progress celebrates the diverse range of experiences and histories of the university’s student body and the talent of young artists in a poignant, multidisciplinary, and creative artistic exhibition.
All are welcome to visit throughout the week and chat with artists and students involved in the project who will be invigilating at the exhibition!
