Reversal(s) is a collaborative exhibition from two creators, Ginny Elston and Jon Place exploring contemporary landscapes.
Artists Ginny Elston and Jon Place disrupt traditional ideas of the imagined landscape in their exhibition Reversal(s), on show at Whitespace, Edinburgh, from June 4th to June 9th 2022. Playing on the theme of shifting, abstracted landscapes, the bodies of work explore the significance of unsettling customary means of image-making. Reversal(s) points to a back-to-front process at play in the works. Whilst we normally might think of developing a painting or image from a starting point of raw materials, and developing them into a found image, the processes at work here suggest the opposite. Deconstructing the found image through forced error, play, or sabotage, leads the image down a different, disquieting path.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
