Welcome to Dalkeith Country Park’s festive light experience, the magical after-dark family adventure! After the success of our 2020 event, we’re excited to launch Spectacle of Light 2021.
Immerse yourself in the light and sparkle of Fort Douglas and it’s surroundings. From the tree top viewing platforms, enjoy the carpet of colour encircling the magnificent Orangerie. Take a woodland walk and experience the luminescent bloom. Discover the Nutcracker garden and the flickering field of fire!
Sip mulled wine and hot chocolate as you enjoy this very special place. Toast marshmallows and tuck into scrumptious hot food in Fort Douglas and Restoration Yard.

Entry times every 30 minutes from 4.30pm to 7pm
Spectacle of Light is a continuous experience with entry time slots every 30 minutes. This is designed to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the spectacle in the best possible light. You are asked to select your entry time when booking your tickets. Please ensure you are at the entrance at your chosen time as tickets are not transferable to a different time slot.
A typical experience will take approximately 75 minutes, although if you wish to stay for longer or less time, it’s your choice!
