As Edinburgh gets ready to welcome visitors from around the globe for The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, local world buffet, COSMO Edinburgh, will be doing its part to join in the celebration and support visiting acts.
Behind the laughter, drama, and dazzling performances of the Fringe lies a reality many don’t see, long days of flyering, minimal sleep, tight budgets, and endless hustle. For the thousands of performers who pour their energy into bringing the festival to life, finding time for a proper, nourishing meal can feel like a luxury.
Based in the heart of the city at Edinburgh’s OMNi Centre, Cosmo Edinburgh has become loved by locals and visitors alike thanks to its range of over 150 high-quality global dishes inside of the stunning, recently refurbished restaurant. This August, COSMO Edinburgh is giving back to those who bring Edinburgh to life during the Fringe Festival, recognising that with packed schedules full of flyering, putting on a show, and little sleep, a proper meal often falls by the wayside.
From Monday to Thursday during the Festival, the restaurant will offer a 20 per cent discount to all verified Fringe performers as a thank you for their dedication and tireless hard work. From fuelling fire-breathers running on fumes, solo comics surviving on adrenaline, or parts of a cast crashing between shows, COSMO Edinburgh hopes to keep the smiles on the faces of performers ahead of show stopping performances throughout the capital.
COSMO Edinburgh General Manager, Timothy Clapson, expressed his enthusiasm towards the Fringe Festival and excitement to give back, saying:
“The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is an extraordinary time for the entire city, and we have nothing but respect for the acts that make it happen. Knowing how busy the performers are for the entire month of August, we wanted to make it easier for them to enjoy a good meal during their busy schedules. Whether enjoying a taste of home or experiencing brand new flavours, we are excited to open the restaurant doors to some of the world's best talent.”
Matt Hale, Comedy Hypnotist performing ‘Funbelievable! 90s Rewind’ at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, added:
“Performers get a discount? Guess who’s headlining the dessert station! Given how expensive Fringe can be for artists, offers like this are much appreciated.”
From the circus acts on The Meadows to the comedians in the Cowgate, you never know who you might bump into if you’re feasting with family and friends at COSMO Edinburgh during this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
