Edinburgh’s Christmas' Santa Paws event is calling out for the city’s dogs to take part in an attempt to break the world record for the most dogs in Christmas jumpers, in a new partnership with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.
The attempt takes place at Santa Paws event on Sunday, 7 December at 12pm in West Princes Street Gardens as part of Edinburgh’s Christmas free community events this year.
Furry friends (and their humans) can enjoy games, photo opportunities with Santa’s elves, a best dressed dog parade and browse pet stalls include Bowzos Bows and Pure Pet Food between 12pm and 2pm at the Ross Bandstand for a day of festive fun.
Also returning is the beloved Santa Fun Run (7 December, 9.30am), inviting humans and their four-legged friends to run, jog, or walk the 2.5km circuit of West Princes Street Gardens. The annual charity event raises funds for When You Wish Upon A Star, who grant the wishes of children aged 4–16 living with life-threatening or terminal illnesses. All monies raised will support wish-granting work in Scotland.
The Santa Paws event takes place from 12pm to 2pm with a group photo taking place around 1pm in an attempt to break the world record for the highest number of dogs in Christmas jumpers assembled in one place.
