July 2025: A truly unforgettable rail journey from the Steam Dreams Rail Co., the Forth Bridge Lunchtime Tour steams through picturesque Fife and surrounding historic villages, hugging the beautiful coastline before crossing over one of the great engineering masterpieces of the world, the Forth Bridge. Departing on Saturday 29th November 2025 at 11:00 from Edinburgh Waverley, this enchanting lunchtime journey led by the iconic 60532 Blue Peter, steams along rarely used rural goods lines and sparkling estuaries is a nostalgic wonder: Seamlessly blending the grandeur of historic steam travel with charming vintage carriages and a truly exquisite Pullman Dining experience, it is the perfect early Christmas gift or special gourmet treat to share with a loved one or friends.
The 4.5 hour circular tour heads from Edinburgh Waverley into Fife and along the coast towards Kirkcaldy, passing the Castle and beach at Aberdour and the beaches at Burntisland and Kinghorn, before turning back inland via Dunfermline. The locomotive will then head along the Forth Estuary onto a rarely used goods only line with stunning views along more than 5 miles of coastline, while passing the historic village of Culross and the edge of Torry Bay Local Nature Reserve. The journey continues through Alloa and along the reopened route to Stirling, heading south through Falkirk, before returning into Edinburgh Waverley.
This trip will form part of The Steam Dreams Rail Co. four-day holiday from London to Edinburgh Christmas Market, taking place from Thursday 27th November – Sunday 30th November 2025. Passengers can choose between three classes of travel: Pullman Dining, First Class (non-dining) and Premium Standard (non-dining).
Pullman Dining offers an exquisite onboard culinary experience, combining impeccable service, meticulous attention to detail, and an ever-changing landscape view from your window. Inspired by the route, the menu is crafted from the finest, locally sourced seasonal produce. Seated in plush armchair style seating at elegantly set tables for two or four, adorned with crisp white linens, fine china, glassware, fresh flowers and plump cushions, passengers are transported back to the grandeur of the luxury travel era. £285 per person
First Class passengers can relax in spacious, cushioned seats around tables for two or four, surrounded by beautifully appointed interiors and attentive service that exude sophistication. The large picture windows offer breathtaking scenic views, transporting guests to a realm of nostalgia and comfort, making every moment onboard a treasured memory. A sanctuary for those seeking a refined and leisurely journey without dining-on-board, passengers can bring their own picnic and will be welcomed on board with a glass of Fizz and freshly brewed coffee and tea. £175 per person
Premium Standard offers a nostalgic and authentic journey onboard a beautifully restored carriage that embodies the charm of a bygone era, with its classic decor and comfortable seating around tables for four. Passengers can enjoy the sights and sounds of steam travel and the camaraderie of fellow travellers, whilst enjoying complimentary tea and coffee. Passengers are invited to treat themselves at our Buffet Car where they will find a selection of hot and cold snacks and a selection of wine, beer, spirits, and cold drinks available for purchase. £120 per person
