Fat Hippo, your favourite independent restaurant group, known for their indulgent, roll-up-your-sleeves and get it all over your face food, have teamed up with plant-based innovators Miami Foods to bring you the ‘MIAMI SPICE.’ This limited-edition vegan masterpiece proves that going vegan doesn’t mean skimping on the good stuff!

Adding to their already generous vegan offering, this creation is big on flavour and guaranteed to impress even the most loyal carnivores.

As always, their BurgerLab has nailed it with this one, and you’re in for a TREAT. Let’s talk layers: At the heart of this meatless marvel is Miami Foods’ brand-new, juicy and tender, plant-based Southern-fried chkn. It’s glazed in a sweet-and-spicy togarashi maple sauce, drizzled with tangy, gochujang BBQ and paired with a refreshing, crunchy Asian slaw. And because Fat Hippo doesn’t do anything by halves, it’s finished off with a slathering of rich, creamy katsu mayo and sandwiched in a toasted buttered milk loaf bun. It’s bold, beautiful, and built for every burger lover out there.

And the vegan vibes don’t stop there! This creation is served up with your choice of a free side, including thick hand-cut chips, skinny fries, or ‘slaw. If you’re craving something extra special, you’ve got to try their new ‘KATSU FRIES’, loaded up with gochujang BBQ sauce, topped with crunchy Asian ‘slaw and finished off with rich, creamy katsu mayo. Also available to purchase separately, these are not to be missed!

Nick Fountain, Head of Marketing and Communications at Fat Hippo, said: “At Fat Hippo, we’re always looking to spice things up and deliver foodie indulgence so the ‘good kind of gluttony’ can be enjoyed by everyone. Partnering with Miami Foods has allowed us to craft a burger that’s just as satisfying and indulgent as our classics, but with a modern, eco-friendly twist. Trust us – this one’s a showstopper and proof that plant-based eating can be just as good. Even the meat-lovers will be drooling.”

Loui Blake, Founder at Miami Foods, added: “This exciting collab is all about celebrating bold flavours and sustainable eating. Fat Hippo’s Miami Spice showcases our new plant-based fillet in the most vibrant, flavour-packed way. It’s a game-changer for anyone exploring plant-based eating and the perfect way to indulge without compromise.”

Keen to ensure you can enjoy their food in a way that suits you, Fat Hippo is no stranger to the plant-based market. First launching their exclusive vegan range back in 2018, they now have a firmly established permanent plant-based offering. This includes a diverse selection of burgers, sides and sauces all vegan as standard, as well as shakes and desserts that can all be made vegan upon request. They have also adapted their in-house signature beers to be certified vegan, and many of the beers and wines they stock year-round are vegan-friendly too.

With more hopping on the Veganuary train every year, the ‘MIAMI SPICE’ is landing at just the right time! Whether you’re a seasoned vegan, giving Veganuary a whirl, or just here for your next messy food coma, this special has your name written all over it!

Fat Hippo and Miami Foods are inviting everyone to ‘get their spice on’ with ‘MIAMI SPICE’ and ‘KATSU FRIES’ available from 7th January 2025 at all 17 UK locations, book now! Plus, you can grab ‘em on Just Eat, Deliveroo and through their own Click + Collect service.
