SCHOOL’s out for summer and with most children away from the classroom until August, there has never been a better time to explore the very best family activities that Perthshire has to offer.

Dubbed “the gateway to the Highlands”, Perthshire is conveniently located approximately an hour’s drive from Glasgow and 90 minutes from Edinburgh, making it the perfect place to take the kids on a summertime daytrip.

Situated in the heart of the historic region is the iconic Crieff Hydro Hotel, which has announced a host of exciting summer activities for the whole family to get involved in - whether you’re a staying guest or just visiting for the day.

Richard Leckie from Crieff Hydro Hotel said: “It’s shaping up to be a summer like no other at Crieff Hydro, with more activities than ever before for the whole family to get involved with.

“With everything from dinosaurs to pottery painting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!”

Get set for a dino-mite time at Action Glen

Calling all adventurers and thrill seekers! Get set to experience a summer like no other as a trio of dinosaurs stomp into Action Glen adventure park on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July.

Families feeling brave enough to come face to face with dinos Betsy the Triceratops, Loki the Velociraptor and Tiny the T-Rex will have a chance for meet and greets with their new pre-historic friends throughout the day plus two shows at 11:30am and 2:30pm.

What’s more, the dino encounters included in the purchase of the Action Glen’s Adventure or Activity Day Passes.

Situated in the grounds of the hotel, families can unleash their inner explorers by unlocking access to up to 13 rip roaring activities including zip-lining, Mini Land Rovers and woodland combat. And with alpaca trekking and Aloft! Treetop Adventures on the cards too, there’s never a dull moment!

Tickets start from £15: www.actionglen.co.uk/tickets

Enjoy a jam-packed entertainment calendar, whatever the weather!

Guests staying at the hotel can enjoy an action-packed entertainment offering that will keep the whole family entertained all day long, even when it’s raining.

Be wowed by the in-house magician during the Magic Show, challenge yourself with daily puzzles and get your dancing shoes on during daily family discos held in the Ballroom. That’s not to mention hours of fun at the indoor sports zone and a bouncy castle!

Pick up a daily entertainment calendar when you check in to stay up to date.

Prices for two adults and two children for a 2-night stay start from £250 per night. Visit our website link below.

Throw yourself into a host of brand-new activities at Big Country

Summer 2024 just got better! Big Country at Crieff Hydro has announced a range of exciting new activities for the whole family to get involved with every single day.

From pottery painting and jewellery making, to creating your own magical fairy door, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Activities start from £3.

Enjoy a cosy summer night in at Crieff Hydro’s very own cinema

Everyone needs some down time on their holidays and what better place to do so than in Crieff Hydro’s cinema.

Free to use for hotel guests, the picture house is bursting with the best movies full of adventure, fairy tales and everything in between.

Imagine the magic of Coco, the fun of Frozen and the glamour of Barbie just moments away from your hotel room… grab your popcorn and get comfy!

All aboard the all-new Hydro Express!

Ditch the car in the parking lot and hitch a ride on the hotel’s brand-new land train, the Hydro Express.

The vehicle will transfer guests from the hotel’s front door to Action Glen, stopping off at the foot of The Knock of Crieff from 9:30am until 6pm daily. And if you’re lucky, you may even catch Crieff Hydro’s mascot, Glen, catching a ride too!

Return journeys between Crieff Hydro Hotel and Action Glen are £1 per traveller, with unlimited journeys priced at £5 per person per stay.
