This expansion exemplifies Gilmerton House’s commitment to providing unforgettable experiences to its valued guests. The newly renovated event space, located at the rear of the house, is the perfect venue for private parties, corporate events, and weddings and is available as an additional space alongside, or independently, of the main house. The Laundry House is an exciting new versatile addition to Gilmerton House.
Nestled within the picturesque grounds of Gilmerton House, The Laundry House boasts a charming rustic interior. Originally built in 1804, this meticulously restored property can accommodate up to 100 seated guests, making it ideal for both large and small events. The venue includes a spacious main room, with dark beamed roof, wood and flagstone tiled floor, and has a beautiful outdoor terrace.
With the addition of Laundry House, Gilmerton House expands its event space options, complementing its existing rooms within the main house. Guests can now choose The Laundry House to suit their requirements, which may formerly have required a marquee.
Gilmerton House itself is a historic exclusive-use mansion located on Edinburgh’s doorstep, within easy reach of North Berwick’s stunning beaches and ancient castles. The house has a rich history dating back to the 17th century and has been beautifully restored over the years, complete with a biomass boiler. Gilmerton warmly welcomes guests for private stays, golfing retreats, exclusive events and celebrations throughout the year.

‘The Laundry House, has over the years, been home to the estate’s laundry, a garage and more recently, a gym. Now, after its recent transformation, this gorgeous new blank canvas can be used to host everything from private parties and product launches to yoga retreats and wedding ceremonies. Its versatility is a huge asset to Gilmerton House and will be available either independently or incorporated with the main house.’
With roaring log fires and walls adorned with family portraits, Gilmerton House has welcomed guests for events large and small for many years. A family home since the mid 1600s, it has been home to the Kinloch family for thirteen generations. Whilst still in the Kinloch family, this historic mansion is currently exclusively available for events and ‘private stays’ to guests who are looking to immerse themselves in the seclusion of the Scottish countryside. The main house offers luxury accommodation options for guests, including 10 beautifully appointed bedrooms, a private dining room, a stunning music room and various living areas and offers a variety of activities, from clay pigeon shooting and falconry to archery and foraging walks. There is also a Lodge which can sleep an additional six guests across three extra bedrooms.
