From a fire-cooked Hogmanay feast and onsite Ceilidh to family-friendly film screenings and an invigorating New Year’s Day dip, the resort is offering something for everyone this holiday season.
At the heart of the celebrations is an exclusive New Year’s Eve feast at Lost Kitchen, the resort’s brand-new culinary venue led by renowned chef Jason Wright. Guests will enjoy a specially curated menu showcasing Lost Kitchen’s signature open-fire cooking, featuring house-made focaccia with whipped salted butter, slow-cooked BBQ prepared low and slow over flame, and a range of vibrant seasonal dishes such as coal-braised vegetable pie, roasted carrots with spiced hummus, whole BBQ cauliflower with rocket miso pesto, and charred potato salad. The meal finishes on a fun note with sharing s’mores toasted tableside.
A lively Hogmanay Ceilidh will also take place on New Year’s Eve, complete with a live band to bring a traditional touch to the last night of the year. The ceilidh is free of charge for accommodation guests and those with tickets to the New Year’s Eve Feast.
Priced at £50 per adult and £25 for under-16s, the evening includes a welcome drink and a three-course meal.
For those looking to start the year with a burst of energy, the resort’s popular New Year’s Day Loony Dook will return once again. Inspired by Scotland’s tradition of plunging into icy waters to welcome the New Year, participants are invited to brave the chill in Europe’s largest wave pool. Tickets are £5 per person and include access to showers, lockers and heated changing facilities.
In the lead-up to New Year, the resort will also be screening a lineup of festive favourites, including Elf, Frozen, The Polar Express, Home Alone, The Holiday and Love Actually, offering fun for all the family.
Lee Wood, Director of Surf at Lost Shore Surf Resort, said: "Hogmanay at Lost Shore is all about having a great time together. Whether that’s settling in for a festive film, enjoying a feast straight off the fire or taking the plunge on New Year’s Day. It’s a fun way to start the year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone for our best celebration yet.”
Getting to the resort is now easier than ever thanks to the launch of a new shuttle bus service. Running six return trips every day, it connects Edinburgh city centre, stopping at George Street, Haymarket and Corstorphine, directly with Lost Shore Surf Resort at Ratho. Tickets, priced at £2.20 per single journey for adults and £1.10 for children (under 16), can be booked in advance through the Lost Shore website: www.lostshore.com/visit-surf-bus.
