RUSACKS ST ANDREWS NAMED ONE OF THE BEST NEW HOTELS IN THE WORLD BY TRAVEL + LEISURE
The historic property has landed on the annual list recognizing the world’s best 2021 hotel openings
Rusacks St Andrews, part of the Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts® collection, announced it has been recognized by Travel + Leisure in the publication’s annual “It List”, showcasing the world’s top hotels opened within the last year. Rusacks St Andrews is included on the list, hand-selected by the Travel + Leisure editorial team for its “beautifully reimagined” design and golf-inspired touches found throughout the property and its culinary concepts.
“We are honoured and proud to be recognized alongside such an esteemed group of hotels,” said Rusacks St Andrews General Manager, Seamus Coen. “I’ve had the pleasure of working at Rusacks St Andrews for many years, and it’s wonderful to see the positive industry response since joining the Marine & Lawn family. We look forward to continuing to provide travellers from around the world with a best-in-class hospitality experience in an unforgettable destination.”
After extensive renovations and a redesign encompassing a 42,000 square foot expansion, Rusacks St Andrews reopened in September 2021 as part of the launch of Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts. The 120-room hotel offers unparalleled views of the Old Course at St Andrews, the world’s oldest golf course; design inspired by the property’s coastal positioning and rich golf history; and a range of culinary outlets from White Rabbit Projects, including 18, a rooftop restaurant and bar overlooking the 1st and 18th holes of the Old Course.
In addition to Travel + Leisure’s “It List”, the hotel has received a number of accolades since opening, including Architectural Digest’s best new rooftop bars, Conde Nast Traveller’s best hotels in Scotland and TripAdvisor’s best hotels in Scotland. The property additionally was recently nominated for the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. This July, the 150th Open Championship will take place on the Old Course at St Andrews steps from Rusacks St Andrews, where the world’s top golfers and spectators will descend for the historic tournament.
Launched in 2021, Marine & Lawn encompasses four distinct properties including Rusacks St Andrews in St Andrews, Scotland; Marine North Berwick in North Berwick, Scotland; Marine Troon in Troon, Scotland; and Slieve Donard Resort & Spa in Northern Ireland. Each property is in a world class golf and leisure destination, and includes locally inspired design, destination food and beverage concepts from White Rabbit Projects and best-in-class spas and in-room amenities. The brand will relaunch historic properties Marine Troon in spring 2022 and Slieve Donard in 2023. Marine & Lawn is owned and developed by Nashville-based AJ Capital Partners.
