Vue Edinburgh Ocean, Vue Edinburgh Omni and Paramount are bringing “Dora & the Lost City of Gold” to the big screen five days early to raise funds for charity MediCinema – and help bring joy to hospital patients with a shared cinema experience and the power of film.
On 11th August, Vue will hold previews of “Dora & the Lost City of Gold” – five days ahead of its official release – with all proceeds from Vue and Paramount going to MediCinema.
Medicinema opened their first hospital in 1999, aiming to bring the joy and escapism of cinema to all patients in hospitals around the UK.
Kat Mason, Chief Executive of MediCinema, said: “You honestly can’t overestimate the difference that watching a film from your hospital bed can make – it is precious normality, a chance to escape into other worlds, a shared experience and memory made together when it is needed most.
“Being in hospital is hard and being on a ward for any length of time can take away the feeling of normality. MediCinema gives patients a break and all the difficulties of being in hospital. Cinema is powerful and can bring people together.
“Please do come out and see the film on the 11th – by buying a ticket, you’ll be helping people in hospital and their families to share a precious moment together and feel better with film.”

Information on how to donate features at the end of the film and customers will be offered the option to donate 50p when they book tickets at www.myvue.com as well as at all venue till points.
