For this year’s edition of the Baroque Music Festival, the Institut Francais d’Ecosse partners with the Italian Consulate in Edinburgh and the Italian Institute of Culture for an exceptional Night of Italian Baroque Music.
17h30 : Monika d’Ermo. For this recital Monika d’Ermo will present a selection of great Baroque music with a focus on Italian composers. Monika D’Ermo is a Scots- Italian pianist who began studying her instrument at the age of 16 under the guidance of Maestro Pietro Sellitto. She is currently in her third year of the Bachelor’s Degree program at the “D. Cimarosa” Conservatory in Avellino, studying in the class of Maestro Laura Cozzolino, having previously been under the tutelage of Maestro Marco Ciampi.
18h30: Interval.
19h: Cenacolo Musicale. Cenacolo Musicale will present, in its Scottish premiere, a captivating selection of arias by 18th-century composer Francesco Barsanti, a native of Lucca who made his mark between Edinburgh and London. Enriching the program there will be interludes by Scottish composers of the same era, offering a vibrant musical dialogue across borders. The performance will also include an evocative tribute to Scotland through a revival of several Old Scots Tunes, drawn from Barsanti’s own celebrated collection.
Our Festival Pass gives you access to the five concerts of the Baroque Music Festival in Edinburgh.
