One of Scotland’s most exciting and influential bands will headline the Saturday evening stage at Porty Festival next summer, with tickets for the gig on sale now.
Known for their bold fusion of traditional and contemporary influences, Mànran will take to the stage at Portobello Town Hall on Saturday 2nd May 2026, promising a high-energy performance with their distinctive sound which has captivated audiences worldwide.
The seven-piece band seamlessly combines English and Gaelic songs, with a dynamic mix of bagpipes, fiddle, accordion, whistle, and flute layered with guitars, drums, and bass - Mànran creates music that is deeply rooted in tradition yet constantly evolving. Their original compositions, crafted with skill and expertise, showcase the band’s ability to push musical boundaries while staying true to their heritage.
After a sell-out gig at this year’s Fringe By The Sea, Mànran will bring their award-winning music to Portobello Town Hall as part of the second annual Porty Festival. The full programme is yet to be announced, but is expected to include everything from a Makers’ Market and vintage clothing pop-up to a Dip & Sip (wild swimming and cocktails), a Cinnamon Bun Run and a fiercely-contested dog show.
Porty Festival founders Carmen Chalmers & Sebastiaan Flurchard said,
“We’re absolutely thrilled to have secured Mànran as our Saturday night headliners - with performances in over 30 countries, Mànran has built a loyal global following alongside countless fans here in Scotland. We’ll be announcing the rest of our lineup in the new year but are expecting tickets for the Mànran gig to sell quickly! The festival is all about celebrating music, art, community and seaside spirit and we think it’s going to be another unforgettable weekend.”
This year’s festival takes place at four locations across Portobello, including the town’s sandy beach. A celebration of the coastal town just outside Edinburgh, the 3-day festival features something for everyone to enjoy beside the seaside.
Mànran will play Portobello Town Hall at 7pm on Saturday 2nd May 2026. For more details of the event, or to book tickets head to https://events.humanitix.com/portymusicsessions - a limited number of reduced price Early Bird tickets are available now.
