You are warmly invited to join us at the German Church for our Rhyme Time for Under 5s, once a month during term time, usually the first Friday of the month.
Dates for Autumn/Winter are:
- Friday 5 September
- Friday 3 October
- Friday 7 November
- Friday 5 December
We sing German children's songs and read a seasonal story together, for around half an hour up to 45 mins max (and since this has been asked before, the songs and stories are not religious, it's a secular meet-up for the German speaking community to come together).
The rhyme time is free to attend. No need to book, just drop in. All levels of German speakers welcome!
Afterwards, our children's library is open to browse until 11am. We have what may be the largest collection of second-hand German children’s books in Edinburgh, for all ages from board books to teen novels. Either bring a book to swap, or leave a small donation which all goes towards supporting our work with families. Parents with older children who would just like to come and browse for books (we have books for babies up to teens) are welcome to join as at 10:45am.
The church is barrier free, with an accessible toilet, changing table, and plenty space to park prams and buggies.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
