This performace will be performed entirely in Italian with live English subtitles.
Dripping with irreverent humour, "The Poor Piero" is a two-act divertissement by Achille Campanile, adapted from his novel in 1961. The play tells the chaotic story of a dead man, Piero, who is stolen, hidden, and adorned with epitaphs, obituaries, and decorations amidst the tears and outbursts of in-laws and friends. In a surreal twist, Piero resurrects from the shock of death only to truly die again, causing chaos at a funeral diverted to another deceased.
As the grim reaper silently observes this social farce, the inevitable fate of all characters looms, culminating in a grand finale that fulfils the prologue's hints. Join us for a night of laughter and irreverence in "The Poor Piero."
