Leith’s favourite Irish bar is hosting a proper celebration of Irish culture, and you’re invited. We’ve partnered with QMU Gaelic Football Men’s Team to bring you a full day of language, music, sport, food, and serious craic.
Whether you’re Irish, Scottish, or just love a good day out, our Irish Heritage Day has something for everyone. And did we mention? Entry is completely free.
WHAT'S ON
Irish Speaking Classes – 12pm
Kick off the day with a 45-minute Irish language class led by the QMU Gaelic Football Club. Perfect for children, beginners or anyone wanting to brush up on their Gaeilge. Tickets are required.
Duration: 45 minutes
Capacity: 24 people
Cost: Free, booking required via Eventbrite.
Irish Storytelling Sessions – around 1pm
Settle in for traditional Irish storytelling that brings the legends and folklore of Ireland to life. A chance to hear the tales that have been passed down through generations. This session is perfect for children and families.
Irish Dancing Classes – around 1pm
We’ll be joined by Siamsoir Irish Dance Performance Troupe who will be performing traditional Irish dances, and inviting attendees to get up and learn a few dances with them. It’s all about celebrating the energy and skill of this iconic art form.
Ireland v Hungary – World Cup Qualifier – 2pm
The big one. We’ll be screening Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Hungary live at 2pm throughout the venue, with a viewing party up in The Mezze. Grab a pint, find a seat, and cheer on the boys in green with fellow fans.
Teelings Whiskey Tasting Sessions – time tbc
Sample some fine Irish Whiskey in a barrel-top tasting session with Teelings Whiskey. Learn about he craft, the flavours, the history – and most importantly, enjoy the drinks!
Trad Music Sessions – 2pm-5pm
Live trad music is the heartbeat of any Irish celebration.
We’ll have a live band playing throughout the day for you to enjoy. In the classic spirit of trad, you are welcome to join in if you have an instrument with you.
Irish Favourites Menu
We’ll have a menu of some of our favourite Irish food & drink available for the day.
This is a full-day event immersed in Irish culture with QMU Gaelic Football Men’s Team. It’s free entry all day and walk-ins are welcome, you can drop in for an hour or stay for the full five. No pressure, just great craic. We’ll see you there!
