About Fire and Light, A Candlelight Christmas at 7 Charlotte Square

Step back into the glow of an 18th-century Edinburgh winter as 7 Charlotte Square comes alive with flickering candlelight, greenery, and the warmth of Georgian hospitality. Discover how New Town residents brightened the darkest days of the year with elegant gatherings, Yule customs, and Hogmanay traditions long before Christmas regained its place in the Scottish calendar.

Wander through histroic rooms lit by fire and flame, enjoy seasonal stories, and experience the scents, sights, and sounds that inspired the festive revival of the 19th century and Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol.
