Discover the legacy of Pierre Boulez (1925-2016), one of the most influential figures in post-war European music and culture through a series of conferences and concerts celebrating the centenary of Pierre Boulez’s birth. A visionary composer, conductor, and cultural leader, Boulez helped reshape the artistic landscape through bold innovation and international collaboration.
This event explores Boulez’s impact on music, technology, and cultural institutions, and reflects on his relevance in today’s world. It also celebrates his long-standing connection with Scotland, especially through the Edinburgh International Festival.
Highlights:
Music and innovation
Boulez’s global influence
Art and politics
His impact on Scottish cultural life
Join us as we revisit Boulez’s ideas and ask what they can offer for the future.
