After Dark at The Georgian House
Step inside 7 Charlotte Square and uncover the dark history of the house and Edinburgh in the 18th and early 19th centuries where bodysnatchers, beheadings, hauntings and hangings were only the beginning.
Trace the house’s unsettling connections to infamous murderers, cunning thieves, and notorious traitors. Encounter tales of Deacon Brodie, the murderous duo Burke and Hare, and even the strange story of Robert Burns’s exhumed skull.
Learn of the Neaves family, former residents of the house who suffered heartbreaking loss: eight of their twelve children died before the age of forty, including two within these very walls. Discover the customs of Georgian and Victorian mourning jewellery, where hair and gems became mementos of grief.
Saturday 18th of October.
Arrive any time between 6:00pm–7:30pm | Event ends 8:30pm
