Part of the One Dramatic Night at St Augustine's collection
Parentification or parent–child role reversal is the process of role reversal whereby a child or adolescent is obliged to support the family system in ways that are developmentally inappropriate and overly burdensome.
Sissy is 25, but, in a way, she has always been an adult. When a call from her sister, Bug, arrives in the night, Sissy must come to terms with all the years that came before.
As the lines between childhood and parenthood continue to blur, the messy threads of a childhood cut short begin to unravel, and hopes for a better future may be rooted in the past.
"It sticks with you; this show has staying power!" -Audience Review
"Deeply vulnerable and beautifully acted." -Audience Review
