Cramond Island is now uninhabited, however it has a history of farming, residency and holiday making and of course defences during both world wars. The tour will take you out and over the island telling some of the stories and pointing out the remains of buildings that have serviced the inhabitant of this tidal Island on the Forth.
Good walking shoes are recommended for this walk and layers of clothing since the weather can be changeable.
The Walk will start and finish at our permanent exhibition centre in Cramond.
Places MUST be booked in advance by the Wednesday before the walk. Please book by email to admin@cramondheritage.org.uk giving a name and number of people in the party. Accompanied children are free.
The walk is organised by Cramond Heritage Trust, a charity run entirely by volunteers, who are preserving and sharing the story of Cramond.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
