Following a 3 year absence, The British Harness Racing Club is pleased to announce that harness racing is set to return to Musselburgh with a one day fixture on Saturday, June 14th.
About Musselbourgh Harness Racing
Harness Racing returns to Musselbourgh racecourse following a 3 year absence.
Harness Racing had traditionally taken place on Musselbourgh racecourse annually since the mid-19th Century and was well attended by people from all over the UK, Ireland and Europe for a 2 day meeting which was historically hosted during the second week of August. Because this was a two-day meeting, hotels, guest houses and inns were sold out from months in advance with many followers bringing their touring caravans and camper vans, making a summer holiday of the event on the rear of the racecourse which overlooks the picturesque Firth of Forth and the waterfront of Edinburgh City and East Lothian Bay.
This June, Musselbourgh sees the Harness Racing returns for one day only, on Saturday 14th June, starting at 2pm.
Musselbourgh is only 5 miles from Edinburgh City Centre and easily accessible by public transport or just a short 15 minute drive.
