Join us for a special evening during Deaf Awareness Week as we explore the rich and often overlooked Deaf history of Edinburgh’s New Town.

Format: Illustrated talk followed by refreshments. Optional short tour of the Georgian House.
John A. Hay, author of Deaf Edinburgh: The Heritage Trail and From Benevolence to Empowerment, will deliver an illustrated presentation uncovering what life was like for Deaf people in Georgian Edinburgh. His talk will highlight key locations, individuals, and stories connected to the Deaf community during that time.
The presentation will be fully accessible with BSL/English interpretation throughout, making it suitable for both Deaf and hearing audiences.
Come along to learn, connect, and see history through a new lens.
