As usual we are really looking forward to ETF Spotlight, our showcase concert.
This is an annual event designed to throw a light on some of the most exciting new performers in folk and traditional music today. It’a always a lively evening featuring some incredible emerging musicians.
The line-up for this year’s show is as follows:
JERI & RUTH
Jeri Foreman and Ruth Eliza combine to form a fiddle and banjo known for their hypnotic and powerful delivery of music. They have performed throughout the UK and also toured in Germany, France and Ireland. In 2024, they released their first album A Little Wilderness as well as a mini album collaboration with Old Spot – The One Night Stringband vol. 1. Performing a combination of deep cuts from the Appalachian old time canon and originals in the traditional style, Jeri and Ruth bring a whole new energy to the classic fiddle and banjo combination.
CURLEW
Curlew is the moniker of Celtic alt-folk musician Gill Higgins. She is known for her unique blend of looped vocals, harmonium, synth drones and field recordings. Her work explores the intersections of nature and technology, and science and intuition creating ethereal, layered soundscapes. Curlew will be accompanied by her band for a performance highlighting togetherness. The trio is completed by Ray Aggs (Sacred Paws) on fiddle, Liam Chapman (Billy Nomates, Andrew Wasylyk) on percussion.
DAUNTLESS
Dauntless is a new and exciting group in the trad scene. Having won the 2025 Celtic Connections Battle of the Folk Bands as their second ever gig, they will be debuting lots of new material in their signature style. Combining the talents of fiddler Connor Civatte, mandolinist/drummer Rory Carter, and cellist Josiah Duhlstine, Dauntless uses music from all eras of traditional music, primarily focusing on both 18th century fiddle music and original compositions. They seek to blend these influences into a consistently interesting, fresh, and authentic listening experience. Their dynamic repertoire ranges from foot-stomping, groovy tunes to poignant, thought-provoking meditations that will enchant any audience.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
