What to bring: an idea or two of a 2-4 word sassy slogan, festive phrase, pithy remark or a favourite word. Please bring a pair of scissors that cut well. SUNDAY 8th DECEMBER
Christmas Papercutting Workshop 6.00pm - 8.00pm. Ruthie Watt aka Papercut Punk is back with a new folk-art flock for a wintery workshop at Leith Makers. In this two hour workshop you will learn the deceptively simple art of papercutting and make a Polish Wycinanki style piece to take home. Associated with the region of Kurpie, the art is typically a symmetrical design, cut from a single piece of paper, folded a single time, and features spruce trees and birds as the most popular motifs.
No drawing skills necessary as there will be adaptable templates to work from but you will be fully encouraged to express yourself through the magic of paper if you wish! In this 2 hour workshop you will learn the basics of papercutting and then have the chance to let your imagination run riot.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
