About Orienteering for all at Vogrie Country Park + Scottish Score Championships 2024
Looking for a new outdoors activity? Something that's family friendly and gets the kids outside, or that will give you a different type of exercise with a bit of mental challenge? Want to explore new places? Then orienteering is for you!
Orienteering is an adventure sport that exercises both body and mind. Using a map, the aim is to find the best way round a set of check-points. You choose whether to run or walk. Compete with others or do it as an individual challenge! It’s a lot of fun for all ages and abilities.
Come along and try it with Interlopers Orienteering Club, on Saturday 9 November at beautiful Vogrie Country Park, Midlothian – a great place to explore. Register to start your course 12-2pm (courses close at 3.30pm).
There’s something for everyone, with a choice of courses of different lengths and challenge. Newcomers and children can try an introductory course of about 2km. For the more adventurous and experienced orienteers, compete in the Scottish Score Championship 2024! Choose one of three ‘Score’ courses (how many controls can you get in the set time), with different levels of challenge as well as duration (40, 60 and 70 minutes). Entry is open to all.
Club volunteers will be on hand to support newcomers. Everyone is very welcome.
Enter in advance to guarantee a map; there will be a limited number on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. Initial entries close at midnight, Sunday 3 November. Entries close at midnight on Sunday 3rd November.
