Welcome to Rhythm & Revolution!
Started a year ago in an intimate cellar in Marchmont, it has become a monthly jazz, fusion and world beat local gathering.
Zoracle are a five-piece original-jazz group based in Edinburgh, Scotland. David Scott and James Wilson met in high-school and collaborated musically across genres before founding the band in August 2023. Timeless melodies and accessible arrangements compliment far out improvisational explorations on their debut EP, ‘The Idol (Part 1)’.
Echo Hotel Collective:
Founded by bassist Jonny Richardson, this ensembles fluid line-up features an eclectic selection of musical backgrounds. Drawing influences from the worlds of jazz, funk, rock, video game, and electronic music. These influences are woven together into a unique, diverse, and energetic sound, In the past receiving comparisons to the likes of Corto.Alto, Ghost-Note, Ezra Collective and Snarky Puppy!
The band debuted at “The Groove Buffet” in April 2023, an event held at the Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh, which showcased a selection of emerging Scottish artists. This performance was recorded and served as the bands debut release “Here’s Jonny!” capturing a selection of the ensembles original compositions.
Since this first show the band has performed at various events around Edinburgh including a headline show at The Wee Red Bar, The Meadows Festival, various Showcase events in The Jazz Bar and Neumusik at Brewhemia. The band have also supported some staples of the Scottish funk and jazz scene including Bohemian Monk Machine, Jimi Get Your Funk On, and Flam.
