Birch Tree Gallery welcomes Eleanor Cunningham with the exhibition 'Windswept Land' - a joint exhibition a returning artist Janine Baldwin. You can see Eleanor's paintings that will be in this exhibition on the gallery website: birchtreegallery.co.uk/artists/eleanor-cunningham
After giving a brief introduction to her creative background, Eleanor will show us show her sketchbooks and will have a demonstration of layering techniques using collage and cold wax.
Eleanor's work explores the human impact on the world around us and the marks left in traces over time. She paints in acrylic and incorporates hand painted collage papers – referencing her training in printed textiles. She studied textile design at the Scottish College of Textiles, graduating in 1999. She lives in Dunbar and is currently studying a Masters in Fine Art at Falmouth University.
