Inspired by the Arena film, Hair, this workshop will explore how our individual poetic voices can come together to create a collective cultural memory which acts as an alternative history and document of our society. With 'hair' as our starting point, we will respond to themes that arise to create new individual poems or texts, which we will then workshop informally together, layering our voices to build a shared voice.
This hands-on workshop aims to engage both experienced writers and spoken word artists as well as welcoming people who are interested to try poetry for the first time.
To give context to this workshop, we encourage you to attend the Your Local Arena screening of Hair. You will still be able to fully participate if you don't manage to see the film.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
