Hamish Hawk's gorgeous, poetic lyrics and luxuriously rich vocals have invited comparisons to Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley, Ivor Cutler, Rufus Wainwright and Scott Walker for their depth of storytelling and poetic imagery, so it's only appropriate he will be performing a solo headline show at Push The Boat Out's Saturday night.
The Edinburgh-based singer songwriter's ascent over the past couple of years has been meteoric; following years of gigging around the city, his singles Caterpillar, Calls To Tiree and the memorably-named The Mauritian Badminton Doubles Champion, 1973 became favourites on BBC 6 Music, his 2023 album Angel Numbers has received overwhelmingly glowing reviews, and he comes to Push The Boat Out off the back of a major European tour, following on from two full UK tours, a packed festival season and a summertime run supporting The Proclaimers.
This is your only chance to catch him in Scotland until his hugely-anticipated gig at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom in February 2024.
With support from Iona Zajac and her beautiful set of stripped-back songs grown from a collection of poems, we're all set for a night of lyrical enchantment.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
