Join beloved writer, TV presenter, and comedian Michael Palin on 3 October for this unmissable Edinburgh International Book Festival event as he regales us with the fascinating backstory to his latest book. Part biography, travelogue, and history book, Great-Uncle Harry: A Tale of War and Empire is a captivating story of an ordinary man who did extraordinary things, all told with Palin’s trademark wit and warmth.
The evening will be a treat for anyone with an interest in history, or those who have enjoyed the various iterations of Palin throughout his career: from comedian and Monty Python actor, to presenter of travel documentaries including Around the World in 80 Days, Pole to Pole, and Sahara, to skilled researcher and writer of books including Erebus: the Story of a Ship.
