This is a 5 week beginners drawing course for anyone who is interested in gaining a firm foundation of the principles of pencil drawing.
The course takes place on the following dates: 29/08, 05/09, 12/09, 19/09 & 26/09 from 18:30 - 20:30.
No previous experience is necessary as I will cater to the complete beginner and cover all you need to confidently tackle any subject.
Over 5 sessions, each 2 hours, I will introduce the basics of drawing and sketching, primitive shapes, light, simplifying complexity in a scene and perspective. The final session will be an in-depth guided still-life piece.
Each session will start with a 5 minute meditation to still the mind and nurture our creativity, then into the first half where I will introduce a topic and lead the class through some playful exercises, a short break, then the second half where we will apply the principles to a still-life drawing. We will then close the session with a short meditation.
My emphasis is on holding a relaxed, non-judgemental space. Art and creativity are innate in us and we can all benefit from the therapeutic effects of expressing our creativity.
Questions are welcomed and encouraged throughout the class!
The following materials will be provided:
9B Pencils.
A3 Drawing pad.
Eraser.
