Join Surgeons' Hall Museums this Spring for our new series of bite sized lunch time talks.
The first report of a lung disease due to working in coalmines was made in Edinburgh in 1831 by Dr. James Crawfurd Gregory. In this lunch time talk the Museums Research Fellow professor Ken Donaldson will discuss the history of lung disease in coalminers in Edinburgh including the symptoms that raised concern and the research that helped change legislation to improve working conditions for Scotland's miners.
Talks will last approximately 30mins and there will be tea and coffee available for ticket holders.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
