Push the Boat Out is a new festival for Scotland where a venn diagram of artforms come together, cross pollinate and collide: poetry, spoken word, live music, hip hop, songwriting, film, sound, gaming, visual art and concrete poetry.
Join us for three epic days, 4th – 6th November, throughout Edinburgh’s iconic Summerhall.
This eclectic mix of poetry, dance, music, and DJing is an event not to be missed. Poet Janette Ayachi and movement artist Emma Snellgrove present their collaborative performance, SISTER_SIREN: an expression of words matched with expression through body, a platform achieving a magical tandem that harnesses a new language.
Poet Anthony Anaxagorou brings his brand new collection, ‘Heritage Aesthetics’ to the festival, while Belle and Sebastian’s Stuart Murdoch discusses the deep and undeniable relationship between poetry and lyrics. Poet and performer, Iona Lee, brings her dark and often surreal work to this boundless Friday night event, with Arusa Qureshi rounding off the evening with a DJ set. Hosted by the ever-effervescent Kirstin Innes.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
