Tapestry expert Helen Wyld presents the first accessible publication on the history of tapestry in over two decades. Helen offers a fresh perspective on the history of tapestry across Europe, with a focus on the collections of the National Trust, in a beautifully illustrated study discussing themes including methodology, craftmanship and methods of production, embedded in tapestries across Europe.
Helen Wyld is a specialist in the history of European tapestry, and spent four years researching the National Trust’s collection. She is now Senior Curator of Historic Textiles at National Museums Scotland, where she is responsible for Scottish and European textiles from the medieval period to 1850.
The Art of Tapestry will be available to purchase on the night of the event in the Dovecot Studios Shop where Helen will be signing copies.
