Mairi Campbell is a pioneering Scots musician whose impact on Scottish music has been considerable. She is the recipient of six national music awards including the Inspiration Award in 2018. In 2019 she was inducted into the Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame. She is an established member of Scotland’s traditional music scene, pushing the boundaries with her use of free improvisation, songs and stagecraft. Known internationally for the famous rendition of Auld Lang Syne in the Hollywood 'Sex in the City' film, closer to home, as an interpreter of Scots song, Mairi has contributed a significant number of songs to its current canon.
Over the last few years she has received support to develop her musical abilities in a theatrical setting with a trilogy of shows Auld Lang Syne, Pulse and the Living Stone, Mairi continues to perform as a soloist on viola and fiddle with a voice that 'stops time', using scarcity and dynamism, spanning innovation and purist traditions to create an intimate and deeply stirring show.
Mairi will perform a concert of 2 x 45min sets.
